Medium format film photograph from my series ‘Portraits of Sanctuary Farm Animals,” where I document the livestock animals living at the Langley, Canada animal sanctuary. I’m interested in breaking down hierarchies between animal and human materials, and dissolving dualistic thinking that assumes them as intrinsically separate. The photography medium and style are reminiscent of traditional portrait photography, elevating the animals to the importance of portrait-worthy.
